AI Breakthrough Real Time Language Translation Model Supports 100+ Tongues, Boosts Indian Localisation Push

An international consortium led by researchers from IIT Madras and Google AI has launched "LinguaFlex," a neural AI model that translates over 100 global languages including 22 Indian languages in real time. With accuracy rates above 95% in contextual translation, the tool is a game changer for e governance, legal proceedings, and multilingual customer service. The model uses adaptive transformers and a training dataset built with help from India's National Language Translation Mission (Bhashini). Live demonstrations showcased seamless English Tamil, Hindi Bengali, and Telugu Kannada conversion. Several government departments have already piloted the tech in grievance redressal platforms.
